The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The class 4 refrigerated trucks' one interior wall structure, and higher insulation than conventional trucks, allow for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo, and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission goods or passenger transportation.
GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will allow fleets to transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We were capable of testing the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours, and found it to be simple to drive, and comfortable to drive for long distances. The ride is smooth on bumps and ruts, while the EV9 does an excellent job of suppressing wind and road noise on the highway. The acceleration is extremely fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by taking off the accelerator.
The EV9 has a great range and can be fully charged in just three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers can choose between two modes of operation including eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode is a preference for torque and cruise control while the sport mode increases speed and handling. Both are fun to drive and provide a unique driving experience for anyone that has never been in an electric vehicle before.
